82nd Airborne Commemorative March 

 

February saw the unit back in Belgium for the annual 'In the footsteps of the 82nd' commemorative march.

 

 

Prior to the march itself, the unit attended the memorial at Malmedy, the scene of the infamous massacre on December 17th 1944, and visited the new museum.

 

 

                                                   

 

 

50 members of the unit and invited guests took part in the event that followed the route of the 505th PIR and the 551st PIR through the hamlets of;

Noirefontaine Farm, Lierneux, Reharmont, Basse-Bodeux, Fosse, Petit-Halleux, Rochelinval and Dairmont,

following the route of the 505th PIR through the period of December 19th 1944 - January 4th 1945.
